If your professor, or anyone for that matter, ever brings up the name Maurice Charland, run far far away and never look back. This Montreal man has a BA in mathematics and jazz, a MS in journalism and communications, and a PhD in rhetoric… How is this even a little bit cohesive? What a confused individual. His manner of writing can be summed up in one word: pretentious. Is it really necessary to use the term ‘rhetoric’ upwards of 30 times in one article? If you value your sanity, just don’t familiarize yourself with this man’s writing. Although, his jazz songs aren’t so bad, the man can sing.
